Item: StethView Digital Recording System, 717-8000

The StethView software program is designed for use with the E-Scope electronic stethoscope, Ausculette Telemedicine Auscultation System or the SimulScope Bedside Auscultation System. StethView operates on a PC in a Windows environment.

Displays phonocardiogram Record and Playback 1 or 2 channel display Compare one sounds with another Installed databank of heart sounds Use on most PCs Use with E-Scope, SimulScope, Ausculette

Display
The software will display a patients phonocardiogram while the user is listening simultaneously to the sound. When used with a SimulScope, the patients ECG may be viewed and/or recorded simultaneously with the heart sounds. This allows identification of systole in patients with faster heart rates.

Recording
StethView records heart or breath sounds (and ECG, if desired) while viewing the phonocardiogram on the screen. Recording time is from 1-120 seconds. Editing
Once a recording has been made, the tracings can be edited to remove unwanted baseline noise, zoom the trace, remove sections of the trace or change the frequency characteristics of the trace. If a recording is being made and a portion of it is deemed worth saving, the unwanted part can be deleted. This is helpful if, for example, a good 20 second recording is being made, but the patient moves during the final seconds of the recording. This portion can be edited.
If there is excessive baseline noise, the baseline noise between S1 and S2 and the subsequent diastolic part (S2 to S1), can be edited so as to improve the identification of remaining sounds and murmurs. If the user wishes to edit so as to have a specific high and low frequency, this can also be done.

Library of Sounds
There is a library of sounds already stored on StethView. This allows the user to see and hear any common heart sound or murmur. The display is a phonocardiogram with PC. This library of sounds can be played individually and is effective for teaching situations. Comparison
Any two sounds that have been recorded from a single patient can be compared on the same person. The allows the physician to note any changes that may have occurred

Multi-Channel StethView
can record one or two channels simultaneously, i.e., heart sounds and ECG.
